Plans and forms in the field app

Tick off a job's tasks and complete its compliance forms on your phone, with or without signal.

In the field app, a job's screen shows its plan and its compliance forms. Crews tick tasks off and fill in forms there, and both work without signal: they are sent when the phone is back online.

See the day's work

On Today and Schedule, a job's card shows the phase being worked that day. For a day staffed by a crew, the card shows the crew's name.

Tick off tasks

Open the job. The Plan card shows how many tasks are done, then:

  • Today: the tasks planned for today, with their phase.
  • Each phase with its tasks. A closed phase shows Closed and its tasks can't be changed.

Tap a task to tick it off, or tap again to untick it. Adding tasks, closing phases and scheduling are done in the office.

Complete a form

The job's Compliance card shows how many forms are still to do, or All done. Each form shows To do, the day it is for, Submitted or Waived, and whether it is required.

  1. Open the form

Tap the form on the job's Compliance card.

  2. Answer the questions

Tap Yes, No or N/A, or Pass or Fail. A Fail asks what failed and what was done about it, and needs a photo. Use Take photo or From library to add photos.

  3. Collect signatures

The form lists today's crew. Enter Who is signing (it fills in the next person who hasn't signed), have them sign, and tap Save signature. Repeat for each person the form needs.

  4. Submit

Tap Submit form. If anything is missing you'll see Some answers are missing — they are marked below.

Your answers are saved on the phone as you go, so closing the app loses nothing. Once submitted, the form counts as done on the phone straight away, even without signal, and is sent with its photos when you're back online.

A submitted form can't be changed on the phone. The office can correct it if needed.

A form set to be completed in the office shows Completed in the office and can't be filled in on the phone.

Before you start the clock

If your company has compliance gates on and a required pre-start for today isn't done, Start the clock and I arrived earlier open the form instead of starting. Complete it, then start the clock.

If a required close-out form isn't done, the job can't be completed from the phone until it is.

On an iPad

If your role sees every crew's work, the iPad schedule has Week and Crews buttons. Crews shows the day with a column for each crew and the work waiting to be scheduled, like the office Schedule view. It is view only: work is moved in the office. The waiting work needs signal to load.

Troubleshooting

The clock won't start and a form opens instead

A required pre-start for today hasn't been completed. Fill it in and submit it, then start the clock.

“Completed in the office”

That form is filled in by the office. Ask them if it is holding up your day.

I can't see a form the office says is on the job

When you have signal, go back to Today or Jobs and pull down to refresh, then open the job again.
